About Us

Urban Promise was founded by Dr. Tony Campolo and Dr. Bruce Main in Camden, New Jersey in 1988 and has been running for 25 years, birthing three new sites in Vancouver, Toronto and Willmington, Deleware in 1997. In 2008 the UrbanPromise International board was formed with the starting of several affiliate ministries in Malawi, Africa. UrbanPromise Honduras became the first official UrbanPromise site outside of North America in 2009, operating in high need communities in Copan Ruinás, working with at risk children and youth.

Our Vision is that the children and youth of Honduras will live full lives and develop into strong leaders that will bring about positive change in their communities and around the world.

Our Mission is to inspire the children and youth of Honduras to fulfill their dreams by equipping them with the skills necessary for life management, academic achievement, spiritual growth and leadership rooted in the Christian faith.
