Dear supporters of The Circus, today we witness yet another historical moment. Allow me to explain.
We are proud to announce the commitment of the first batch of donors to the Circo Catracho!
If the name rings a bell, it’s because they are your sisters and brothers that support UrbanPromise every month and are Latinos and Catrachos (nickname for Hondurans). This month we launched the initiative and have our first four committed Honduran monthly donors.
UPH has always had support from our local community. We often have incredibly generous one-time donations from local Hondurans in Copan and beyond. However, this initiative is so special because our new Catrachos are taking a huge step by becoming monthly donors to UPH. Started by our wonderful Londin, this campaign is a trusted place for Hondurans that live locally and abroad to give back to the country they love and want to see thrive.
They are the people who believe in Honduras, in their people, and our pioneering project in Copán Ruinas (UPH). Circo Catracho is our community of Honduran donors who promote our dreams every month, just like you.
You are not only witnesses to this moment but also serve as inspiration for the Circo Catracho. When we wanted to invite Honduran supporters to become monthly donors, we couldn’t think of a more inspiring story than yours. People that believed in our vision and said, “I’m all in.” Your bold decision impacted this growing community of Honduran supporters.
UrbanPromise Honduras began with three foreigners but always wanted to raise local leaders. Now, we’re looking at 32 Honduran staff within our organization. Our supporters now follow the same trajectory.
These two groups of monthly donors, our strongest supporters, are connected beautifully. You're both part of the inner circle of UP in Latin America. The tiny language barrier is the only difference, at el Circo Catracho hablamos español hondureño. However, language won’t cast a shadow on the same love we all feel for Honduras, our children, youth, and communities.
Dear supporters of Circus, today you should feel proud of your impact on others. Your faith, courage, and generosity have created the communities of The Circus and El Circo Catracho and are inspiring the next generation of leaders in Latin America.
Thank you for your constant support, prayers, and good wishes.

⚽ Youth Afternoons
The directors of our youth programs and our Fellows created "What's my faith?" think tanks. The youngsters are asked to provide a question about their beliefs while the Fellows guide the exercise. Deeper questions are raised through talks in this safe space. The Fellows lead the group as they thoughtfully and honestly respond to the challenging questions.
We explore into the idea of personal vision and life purpose on the second day of the Youth Afternoons. With the intention of empowering the youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet life's problems, we reflected deeply in a forum format.
🧢 Training time with captains of camps
The main topic was "Leadership". Our camp leaders conducted a self-evaluation to determine their leadership style and how best to use the traits or skills that set them apart as unique leaders.
🏸 An afternoon with trainee facilitators
We created a course called "Identity" for our teens who wish to participate in our youth program. We prepare them for their upcoming stage at UPH by having them sketch their own silhouette, make a list of personality traits, and describe how they picture themselves.

Gift for Mother's Day
Our whole art lesson was dedicated to creating a bouquet of paper flowers. The kids were quite enthusiastic about the activity since many of them knew it would make their mothers smile.Camps' classes
In Bible class, we talked about Abraham's faith during challenging requests; in Discovery class, we built a Newtonian fluid and colored rain; and in Health class, we examined the significance of the parts of our heads. Our youth prepared each lesson with a lot of love and excitement. What is democracy and how does it work?
We addressed this subject with our kids and gave them the most detailed explanation. We then held a vote in which 7 of the kids were chosen, allowing them to observe democracy in action.Good conduct? You win prize!
The kids earn points over the course of two months for being well-behaved, doing their homework, and taking part in games and tutoring, and they may redeem those points for toys. The larger gifts have higher point price, which encourages kids to put in more effort.

Impact on local schools
We visited Dr. Jesús Nuñez Chinchilla local school, and there we spoke with students about life after graduation. With the help of one of our Fellows, Jean Lucumi, we discussed "Interdependence" as a crucial ability for their next phase in life.
Arbor Day
"Environmental Awareness" is one of our program's values. We celebrated Arbor Day with the La Pintada Community School. We asked kids from the local school to help us plant trees on the organization's campus. After every student planted a tree we spent the afternoon playing games.Cycling Training
We ride our bikes on the town's roadways once more. This space where we may compete against one another physically also allows us to bond with each yout even more. Leadership can be seen in this exercise because we are all driven to meet the physical challenge.
Marathon Preparations
Every year, in Honduras, a Marathon is held in the San Pedro Sula area. It is an honor to confirm that some of our youth will take part in the event, where 400 people are running from various locations. We are now putting a lot of effort into our training in order to give it our all during that marathon and promote the organization (Urban Promise Honduras) and our program (UrbanTrekkers).
PromiseBand
Of course you heard of our annual UPLAM summit where PromiseBand led the worship time. We’re so proud of our youth that we can’t help but to tell you about it again!
